How does AngloComputer work? We assist you, in English, in the entire process of purchasing an English spec Dell computer in France -- from advising you on your actual needs, to obtaining a quote, to processing payment and executing your order, to helping you through delivery day and setup. AngloComputer acts as your independent IT consultant. We guide you on the best configuration to match both your performance requirements and budget. We are not commissioned or remunerated in any way by Dell, so you can be sure we'll give you the best advice. Why can't I do this myself? Finding English specification computers is difficult, if not impossible, in France. No stores carry them. The major PC manufacturers simply do not produce English configurations for the French market. AngloComputer has a long relationship with Dell so we can help English-speaking expats residing in France obtain the full range of Dell computers with English keyboards (UK or US International), an English Windows 8 operating system and any other English-version software you need. Why can't I order directly from the UK? Dell UK will not ship to addresses outside the UK. Neither will most other computer makers and retailers. If you do find a supplier, the operation is risky and often a lot more costly than it might appear. This is because most major PC manufacturers generally will not extend their UK guarantee for France. If something goes wrong you will have to cart your computer back to the UK for servicing. That's a huge hassle, not to mention cost. Are Dell computers backed by a French guarantee? Yes, and this is a key advantage of ordering through AngloComputer. Any computer you order will be backed by Dell's 1-year Collect & Return guarantee for France. In the event of a defect in the product, Dell will arrange to pick up your PC and have it quickly repaired at its service center, then returned to you within 10 days -- all at no cost to you. Can I get an extended service guarantee? Yes. Dell offers extended warranties of up to 3 years, including next-day in-home service and remote support. If you are interested in purchasing an extended warranty, just ask us when you request your quote. Prices of service warranties vary with the model. What is Dell's pricing policy? In general, you'll find our prices to be similar to Dell's prices in the UK, though they are expressed in Euros rather than Sterling. However, pricing may vary, up or down, according to the specific configuration offered and special promotions. Can I get the same model that Dell is offering in the UK? We can almost always get you the same wide selection of models, but the options and packages available in France may differ somewhat from those offered in the UK because of differing marketing and promotional policies. Just tell us what you want and we'll do our best to get it for you. How do you charge for your service? We offer our independent advice to help you configure your PC, and obtain a formal price quote, for free. If you decide to purchase, we charge a modest special-order fee for our services. This fee is indicated in your quote. How is my order shipped? Dell produces your computer at its factories in Europe or Asia, according to your exact specifications, and then ships it directly to your home or office in France via UPS signed and insured service. How long does shipping take? Most Dell models are shipped within a few days of your order and arrive at your home 8-12 days later, on average. Some shipments take less than a week. When you place your order you will receive an estimated delivery date and access to our web backoffice, allowing you to follow the production and shipping status of your order. What if I'm not home on delivery day? No worries. If you are not home on delivery day, UPS will leave a notice in your post box inviting you to call and arrange for delivery at another time that is convenient to you. How do I order? Tell us what you want or let us help you develop the configuration that best suits your needs and budget. We will then submit your configuration to Dell for an official price quote, which usually is obtained the same day. If you decide to purchase, we will execute the transaction for you. How do I pay? Dell requires payment with your order. Your invoice is billed in Euros, though you may pay with any international bank card. Dell accepts Visa, Mastercard, Carte Bleu and American Express. For our special-order fee, we accept these same cards, plus Paypal. You may also pay by bank transfer (virement) directly to Dell's bank. If you wish to pay this way, just let us know and we'll send you bank transfer details with your quote. How can I get a VAT refund? If you are a resident of a non-EU country and visiting France for a period of less than 6 months you can qualify for a refund on the 19.6% value added tax built into the price of your computer. To get your refund, let us know you want to claim a VAT refund at the time of your order (it cannot be done after the order has been placed). You will need to submit scans of:
